Meet our Director of Youth & Sports Ministry

Ray Schaaf

Ray was born and raised in Kokomo, IN and that’s where his passion for all things sports was birthed. Going to college at Ball State in Muncie gave Ray two even greater passions. It is where he truly accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and met his wife, Erin. Ray and Erin have been married for 10 years, and they have two children, a daughter, Gemma and a son, Callum. They also currently have an exchange daughter, Sylvia, from South Korea. Ray also unquestionably has the best dog in the world, a black lab mix named Fenway. Ray spent the first 9 years out of college working as a missionary with Cru, both at Ball State and abroad. He then transitioned to teaching high school social studies and finally joined the Crossroads team at the beginning of 2026. In his spare time, Ray enjoys watching and playing sports, playing board games and video games, eating Chick-fil-A, and has picked back up collecting Pokémon cards for himself and with his kids.
